It’s been a dream come true to create solixir. I always knew while attending the University of Maryland back in the early 90’s that I wanted to become an entrepreneur. My first step was joining the United States Marine Corps after college. The experience was amazing and I learned to tackle challenges I couldn’t even have imagined.
After the Marines, I earned my MBA and worked for some very large corporations managing everything from paper towels to creating innovative new food and all-natural beverages. So now besides working out, spending time with my wife Melissa and my two kids, I run a business dedicated to creating beneficial and great tasting drinks to help people live a better life.

My fancy title is Medical Herbalist but what I really do is harness the power of nature to help my clients live a better life. I currently live in Los Angeles, California. I have been very fortunate to travel the world and speak publicly on integrated health and herbal medicine. My other passion is teaching where I am an Adjunct Professor at the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy, Boston.
Previously, I was in private practice for many years in California. I have a Degree in Phytotherapy, from Britain’s College of Phytotherapy, and I am a member of the National Institute of Medical Herbalists. I have written three popular books on women’s health, and have also contributed to three recent books on natural medicine. When I am not in the garden or enjoying sunny California, I love to read and spend time with my husband and daughter.

My passion is High Performance Nutrition, and I have been fortunate to consult with many professional sports teams and elite athletes. 17 years ago I started High Performance Nutrition®, LLC, a consulting firm in Mercer Island, Washington, to help athletes reach their full potential in body and mind through harnessing the power of food.
I also began writing several books, including Power Eating, 3rd Edition. I am also a founder and fellow of the International Society for Sports Nutrition and a fellow of the American College of Nutrition. If I wasn’t busy enough, I am also a member of the American College of Sports Medicine and The American Dietetic Association. When I get a break, I enjoy the great outdoors of the Pacific Northwest with my husband and two teenage girls where we can ski, bike and swim all in the same day.
